2008-3164 PHOTO: SANTA BARBARA COUNTY: SANTA BARBARA: HOTELS: SAMARKAND PERSIAN HOTEL Shows the main building and wings, colonnade surrounding reflecting pool. Originally built in 1915 by Dr. Prynce Hopkins as boys school, Boyland II. In 1920, became Samarkand Persian Hotel when school failed.
