Title supplied by cataloger. Photograph dated March 17, 1964 shows flames from the Verdugo Hills fire that destroyed homes in Burbank and Glendale. The article partially reads, "Gov. Edmund G. Brown today declared fire-ravaged sections of Burbank, Glendale and Eagle Rock a disaster area, paving the way for the federal government to issue a similar declaration to seek federal assistance if necessary...The first report came about 6 a.m. yesterday from the Whiting Woods district in Glendale, east of the Verdugo Hills.
