Description
Shown in boxing pose in 1944 is Myron Schall, boxing and football coach at the Davis College of Agriculture. A native of Arkansas, Schall was the West Coast boxing champion for his Alma Mater Stanford University, where he received degrees, in 1927, for political science and physical education. In 1942, Schall set a world recording for punching bag speed and endurance of nine housr and five minutes, averaging 144 punches per minute. He also served as the athletics director for the Sacramento Elks and gained further distinction for his invention of the down marker for football, consisting of four balls, each representing a down.
