Description
Admiral R. B. Berry, chief of Los Angeles Civil Defense Committee and Phil Ortha examine vacuum "air sweep" device atop City Hall, which will be used for testing whether radioactivity reaches Los Angeles from the impending A-Bomb tests in Nevada. The device draws in possibly contaminated air through a filter trap. Dated October 16, 1951.
