Photograph caption dated April 8, 1954 reads, "New 20,000 lumen street lights bathe San Fernando Road in San Fernando business district with nearly 10 times the amount of light old-style 3400 lumen cluster lamps formerly produced. The 42 lights on main street are first of series Southern California Edison Co. will install on all major residential and business areas of city."
