This symposium presentation given by Robert Rosenthal, distinguished professor of psychology at University of California at Riverside, discusses the effects of interpersonal expectations and self-fulfilling prophecies in a variety of applied settings, such as in educational and law settings. Rosenthal summarizes his nearly fifty year long program of research investigating such issues beginning at the University of North Dakota, University of California at Los Angeles, Harvard University, and the University of California at Riverside.
