Description
Barbara and Virginia were Earl and Saidee Pettus Hoose's daughter, Chauncey Pettus was their cousin, son of Saidee's brother William Pettus and Sarah DeForest. He was named after Chauncey Goodrich (1836-1925), author-compiler of a Chinese-English dictionary and a collaborator with William Pettus in his teaching of the Chinese language.
