Daugherty; 8 Vaughn Comfort; 9 Johnny King; 10 Tome Dingle; 11 Eddie Garvey; 12 Julius Tannen; 13 Geo. Sidney; 14 Tommy Gray; 15 Bert Levy. Seated Left to Right – 1 Max Figman; 2 Laddie Cliff; 3 Will Rogers; 4 Sam Harris; 5 Jerry J. Cohan; 6 Louis Mann; 7 Fred Niblo; 8 Geo. M. Cohan; 9 Lew Dockstader; 10 Frank Tinney.” The Friars Club was founded in 1904 and located in New York City as a private organization that primarily caters to individuals within the entertainment industry. They raised funds through shows that were called the Friars Frolic and in 1916, the money was used to build a new clubhouse. Billed as the Friars’ biggest production to date, it featured an all-star ensemble. The almost annual event helped sustain the organization and showcase members’ talents.
