Photograph caption dated May 24, 1956 reads, "First poppy in Reseda honoring war dead is worn by Harold Minton, chamber of commerce president. Distributing poppies is Mrs. Chester Horsford, American Legion Auxiliary 308, Reseda. Memorial poppies are made by hospitalized veterans and will be available to public tomorrow and Saturday."
