Photograph caption dated October 20, 1961 reads "Motorists had to drive carefully Thursday morning through thousands of copies of a downtown newspaper spilled on Ventura Freeway near the Reseda boulevard offramp. Flying papers threatened vision of passing motorists until winds blew them to side of freeway."
