Harlow, and brother of author, Frederic Pease Harlow. William was agent for Wells Fargo in Portland. In Aug. 1897, William and Fred Harlow, and Austen took a five-day cycling trip from Portland to Tillamook. From Tillamook they went up the coast to Ilwaco, Washington where they took ship home to Portland.
