Description
Looking down a grassy hillside we see a partially completed reactor containment structure located by the ocean in San Luis Obispo County. This is Pacific Gas and Electric's first 1,060,000-kilowatt nuclear generating facility. Power will be produced by 1800 rpm turbine-generators located in a rear building. This is Unit 1 and was expected to be operation by 1974. A second unit would also be built. To the left of the construction area can be seen stockpiles of equipment and supplies.
