Description
"The Most Rev. J.K. Hayasaka Bishop of Nagasaki ordains five new priests in the cathedral of XXVI martyrs of Japan at Nagasaki on the 19th March 1936." In this photograph Bishop Hayasaka, wearing a mitre, sits in front of the altar surrounded by four additional priests and two altar boys, one of whom holds the book from which the Bishop reads. The five new priests kneel with their backs to the camera.
