Description
Two women in Parisian fashion for 1829. The woman on the left has her back toward the viewer. She wears a wide brimmed, white hat decorated with yellow and brown plaid ribbon bows and a yellow feather. Her dress is pink with white, eyelet lace trim around the neckline, shoulders, cuffs and the bow of the sash. The sleeves are short and puffed. Her sash is tied into a small, neat bow at the waist. She sits on a stool with a dark green cushion with white and gold fringe. The legs are white edged in gold. The woman on the right wears a blue hat with yellow and blue plaid ribbon bows and two yellow feathers decorate the top. She is adorned with a pair of dangling, spherical earrings. Her dress is white with white eyelet lace trim around the neck, shoulders, and cuffs. Double lines of blue ribbon edge the bodice. A blue sash is tied around her waist. She wears white, elbow length gloves and holds a white fan in her hand. The skirt is white with two tiers of blue ribbon detailing midway down the skirt and at the hem. Triangles of blue ribbon top the row of ruched white fabric with diagonal stripes of blue ribbon across the band of ruching. She wears white shoes over white stockings.
