Description
"The Camellia Bowl Festival of Sports” a six day, community-sponsored affair, took place annually from 1961 – 1980, and included a football game, a basketball tournament, golfing, banquets, and other festivities. Sacramento has been known as the Camellia City since 1908. The flower was first brought to Sacramento in 1852 by a florist named James Warren and is now the official city, and county, flower.
