Photograph caption dated February 23, 1952 reads, "Wall (arrow) was ripped off side of home at 1438 West Eleventh place last night when accumulated gas from a cooking plate exploded. Resulting fire sent Vernon James, 43, to General Hospital with first, second and third degree burns. Firemen prepare to bolster the threatening wall until full repairs can be made."
