This photo was not used in article. The Bob Baker Marionette Theater was located at 1345 W. First Street in Los Angeles and houses a children's theater as well as studio space where designers create and produce unique hand-crafted marionettes. The building was built in 1953 and was later purchased by Bob Baker and his partner Alton Wood and used as a live children's theater showcasing their marionette creations. In 2009, the Bob Baker Marionette Theater was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Photograph caption dated February 28, 1964 reads, "The two master puppeteers, Alton Wood, left, and Bob Baker, do a practice routine before showtime. Each marionette must be checked before the show to see that each string is perfect. If a string breaks during a performance, and it does happen, the puppeteer must rely upon perfect timing to 'fake it.'".
