Title
View of panelled walls of Eucalyptus--probably E. viminalis--in the Sherman Leonard home, 876 Southampton St., Palo Alto. The tree grew on the Shim Ranch near Niles on the Centerville road, and was probably 50 years old or more when cut. The boards were air seasoned for 6 months, then dried slowly in a prune dryer for about 15 days by George F. Cleese Mill Work, 826 El Camino, Menlo Park. The lumber has beautiful rippled grain and satiny appearance. Leonard sanded it after it was in place. December 1951. Metcalf
