Description
Two buildings at Sixth and I streets adjacent to a vacant lot are shown in this 1960 photograph. A sign visible on the corner building identifies a street-level entrance to the Marconi Hotel and there is a partially covered sign painted on the brick side for the Marconi Restaurant. The two structures, which functioned as hotel, restaurant, cigar store, sign company, liquor store and massage parlor for the first part of the 20th century, now lie beneath a parking lot serving Old Sacramento.
