The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on May 25, 1970 states: "A statewide drive is under way to raise funds for the preservation of the Kennedy Mine Tailing Wheels in Jackson. The funds will be raised through the sale of the lapel buttons bearing the drawing at upper left."
