A large mural titled "Aztec Princess", painted in 1990 by artist Eloy Torrez, is visible on the side of a building at the energy plant owned by Sunlaw Cogeneration Partners I, located at 2045 East Vernon Avenue. The smaller murals on the right were drawn by winners of the art competition held at Vernon Elementary School. The mural "Report Card A+" was drawn by Maria Cervantes, winner in 2001; and "In memory of the Twin Towers" was drawn by Tatiana Lozano, winner in 2002.
