Description
Bob Colacello discusses his book, “Ronnie and Nancy.” He begins by explaining that Nancy Reagan’s real name was actually Ann Francis and she was originally named after her aunt, but from a young age she was called Nancy. Colacello then discusses how Nancy frequently chose not to acknowledge her biological father and instead referred to her stepfather, Loyal Davis, as her real father who later adopted her at age seventeen. He goes on to explore Ronald Reagan’s upbringing in rural Illinois as the child of an alcoholic father and fundamentalist Christian mother. Later in the interview he discusses Ronald and Nancy’s transition from cinema to politics.
