One of two sons of comedic actor, Joe E. Brown, Don Evan (December 25, 1916 - October 8, 1942) went on to become a Captain in the United States Army Air Force, but was killed during pilot training.
Scanning the program arrangements for the Youth Rally for Peace, demonstration by Southern California youth against participation in Europe's war, are five members of the sponsoring committee. Left to right: Lois Crozier, state chairman of the California Youth Legislature; Clem Glass Jr. of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce; Don Brown, general chairman of the rally and 1938-1939 president of the U.C.L.A. Associated Students; Janet Mosher, executive of Westminister Club (Presbyterian college students group); and Don Healey of Labor's Non-Partisan League. Note: Don Brown is the son of comedic actor, Joe E. Brown. Photograph dated October 21, 1939.
