Photograph shows an exterior view of Mission San Juan Bautista, including the roofed walkway/arcades. A bell hangs on a wooden stand in front of the building. The sign above the bell reads in part "El Camino Real." La Misión del Glorios Precursor de Jesu Cristo, Nuestro Señor San Juan Bautista was founded June 24, 1797 and is the largest of the Spanish missions in California. The adobe buildings were built between 1797 and 1812. An original unpaved portion of El Camino Real has been preserved just to the east of the mission.
