Description
Presented is a circa 1885 image of the Sutter's Fort central building. Sutter's Fort is located on Twenty-Sixth and K streets. The fort was built in 1839. The central building housed offices, living quarters, a hospital, and storage. The fort underwent restoration in the 1890s by the Native Daughters of the Golden West and was opened as a museum in 1893.
