Description
Photograph of the Virginia, an electrically operated ship of the Panama Pacific Line, at sea, 1930-1940. The large, dark-hulled steamship is at center and is headed to the right. It has two masts, one near the bow and one at the stern, and two smokestacks are visible amidships. The upper half of the ship is painted in a light color. The ocean around the ship is choppy, and the Virginia is creating a large bow wake. The Virginia was the largest ship of its kind in America.
