Caption on album page: "In additional to the nominal wages paid, if employed within the centers, evacuees were entitled without cost to coupon or script books on the basis of $1.00 per month for children, $2.50 for a single person, $4.00 for a married couple with a maximum of $7.00 to a family. This script was redeemable at center stores or canteens for personal items such as tooth brushes, refreshments, tobacco and other items. No cash transactions were permitted at stores or canteens.
