Description
Photograph of mountain climbers at Palisade Glacier, ca.1900. A line of hikers is visible in the foreground standing on a snow-covered rocky ground. They are facing a party of three men and a dog who are standing on a rock, which rests on a bank of snow (small glacier?), located in the left area. Most of the people have a ski pole in one hand. A man furthest to the right, is standing by what appears to be a camera on a tripod. A valley of snow is observable which extends towards the background. Snow-capped pointy and rocky mountains serve as the backdrop. (Compares to CHS-42844 the image shows a divergent perspective of the same location of this image.)
