Image of American high-diver and Olympian Dorothy Poynton Hill holding a paddle and sitting in a kayak while her husband, Nelson Hill, launches the boat into the water in Santa Monica, California. The two buildings on the beach in the distance are the Santa Monica Athletic Club (far left) and the Deauville Club (center); the Looff Hippodrome can be seen at right on the Santa Monica Pier.
Title devised by cataloger based on information from sleeve in which negative was received: "Poynton and hubby in cayac [i.e. kayak], Santa Monica." Date supplied by cataloger based on variant version of image published in the June 8, 1934, issue of the Hanover, Pennsylvania, Evening Sun with the title "On Their Honeymoon."
