Los Angeles Police Chief William H. Parker holds a conference in his office during the Watts riots. Present were: Deputy Chief Tom Reddin, Deputy Chief Roger Murdock, Supervisor Warren Dorn, and Major General Charles Ott. Parker is seated at the desk in this August 13, 1965 photo. The rioting began August 11 and lasted six nights.
