Description: "Darjeeling Mission 'Panchayat’ group". Group portrait of thirteen individuals, a white minister stands in the middle, and the rest are indigenous to the region of the Eastern Himalayas. Most wear heavy coats and scarves and they are standing in the portico of a large building. The term "panchayat group" is used to describe the Church governing body. ❧ This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa.
