Photograph caption dated April 12, 1956 reads, "Crowds swarmed into new Ralphs market after grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Woodman avenue and Van Nuys boulevard in Pacoima. Taking part in ribbon cutting are, left to right, Arthur McKay, store manager; Albert Ralphs, chain-store executive; Everett Burkhalter, councilman; Wesley Tuttle, Pacoima's honorary mayor; Earl White, builder; Richard Ralphs, an executive, and Ben O'Brien, Pacoima chamber of commerce president."
