Photograph caption dated October 27, 1959 reads, "This pair of 205-pounds Pierce College tackles, Gene Dempsey, left, and Al Slater, have proven themselves to be two of the finest linemen in the Western States Conference as the Brahmas have battled to a first-place tie in conference play. Pierce faces its biggest game this Friday when undefeated Cerritos invades the newly completed Brahma stadium. A record crowd is expected to be in attendance for this game which could well decide the league championship."
