The State Theater was built in 1940 on the site of the Belvedere Theatre, which burned down in 1933. Clifford A. Balch was the architect.
Exterior view of the art deco style California Theatre, located at 235 W. Third Street in Pomona. The marquee reveals that two films, "The Shanghai Cobra" and "Springtime in Texas" are playing.
