Photograph article dated June 21, 1963 partially reads, "Walt Disney, his eyes sparkling like an out-of-town uncle taking his nephews and nieces for a picnic, opened his Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland Wednesday - a $1 million, 10-years-in-the-making fantasy featuring 225 mechanical birds, singing flowers and tom-tomming wooden Tiki gods. Said Disney proudly: 'This is the first use of three-dimensional entertainment and I expect to have a good time developing it.' Disneyland's newest attraction consists of a 17-minute musical entirely programmed by tape. The audience sits surrounded by it." Photograph caption reads, "Walt Disney shows off Enchanted Tiki Room - Disneyland proprietor shows animated totem pole to employe [sic], left."
