Description
Photograph of an exterior view of an unidentified oil refinery, ca.1940. Two tall, octagonal buildings stand side by side at center with men manipulating the apparatuses on each of the buildings' top levels where no walls fill the metal frames. Metal walls protect the lower levels of the buildings while walkways protrude from the frame and tall staircases climb along the sides to the concrete platform below. Tall pipes stand among the skeletal towers which crowd the left side while wide, lightly-colored cylindrical structures blanket the background.
