Black and white photograph printed on a postcard showing two young Nigerian children cared for by pioneer missionary Mary Slessor (1848-1915). The children wear smocks and straw hats, and stand in front of iron railings. This image comes from a photograph collection kept by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Methodist Hospital run by the Methodist Missionary Society at Ama Achara, southeast Nigeria, from 1921 to 1944. Photographic material on Mary Slessor was sent to Emily Godfrey by a Mrs McCullough.
