Description
Looking east on K Street about 1910, the transition from horse to gas is very evident. There are many vehicles in this scene; two electric street cars, horse-drawn carriages and wagons, and a number of automobiles. Pedestrians dot the sidewalks and cross the streets. A large sidewalk clock stands in front of the Masonic Hall. Businesses in the view include: Ping Pong Photo Co. (in the Masonic Hall Building at 530 K Street), Zemansky's Jewelry and Loan Co. (531 K Street), John Breuner Co. (600-608 K Street), Pantages Theater (615 K Street) and Golden Eagle Hotel (K Street at Seventh Street)
