Caption reads, "Many land stations and large naval vessels are equipped with transmitters having arcs of this size. When installed on battleships these transmitters give the ship a communicating range of from 2,000 to 3,000 nautical miles during daylight. For smaller vessels the Federal Telegraph Company builds transmitters varying in size from 2 to 20 Kilowatts."
