The Los Angeles Office of Skidmore Owings and Merrill designed the the Crocker Bank complex in the late 1970s. When Wells Fargo Bank and Crocker Bank merged in February, 1986, the Crocker Tower was renamed the Wells Fargo Tower. Photograph caption reads: "Crocker's high-rise towers bound two sides of its downtown block and focus on a central restaurant atrium which has stores lining Hope St." Photograph dated November 15, 1982.
