Photograph caption reads: "New four-lane Wentworth street through Sun Valley and Sunland was officially opened at ceremonies attended by, from left, motor officer Karl Kapin, David Rothman, Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce president; Councilman Everett Burkhalter; Richard Bowman, Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce president; Aris Sherwood, Los Angeles city engineering supervisor; Sgt. L. W. Gandre, and motor officer W. W. Wheelock. New route is entered at Sheldon Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard on south and at Wentworth Street and Foothill Boulevard on north. Traffic is being diverted to Wentworth route during closing of Sunland Boulevard route between Sunland and Sun Valley to permit widening of thoroughfare". Photograph dated: Sept. 2, 1959.
