Photograph of exterior view of a man looking into a large rimmed pipe, ca.1940. Near center, a man stands at the top of a wooden step ladder and looks at the interior of a large, rimmed pipe. The rim of the darkly-colored, wide pipe extends nearly a foot from the body of the pipe. The pipe sits atop a small wooden platform raised off the ground. The platform is supported by a series of wooden beams. The ladder on which the man is standing is also attached to this wooden platform. The man wears a long-sleeved coat and slacks. The man's dress shoes are visible above one of the rungs on the ladder. In the background, steel pipes and meal rods are visible. In the extreme background, lines of vegetation stand near a body of water.
