Photograph of the inner garden at Mission San Juan Bautista, ca.1900. The garden is bordered at the back and left by the adobe walls of the mission buildings. These buildings have terracotta tile roofs and white spackle covers the walls. In the foreground is the garden, and it is full of a wide variety of plants and ivy-covered trees. There is a narrow dirt walkway at right and a wooden ladder leaning against a building at left.
