Description
Astronomer Nicholas Mayall, of the Lick Observatory, writes to EPH, with answers to some of EPH's questions, noting that most of the objects for which he requested information are also on Lick's observing list. He has not been able to get to the office much because of his back. The Crossley telescope mirror might need to be sent to Caltech for a new aluminum coating. He had hoped to go along with it, but cannot because of his back. He explains what the doctors have found and that he has to be very careful. They still are waiting for the Governor to sign the public works bill.
