Photograph caption dated February 24, 1945 reads, "Named America's favorite actress in a Gallup Poll, Greer Garson was presented with a Gold Medal by Dr. George Gallup. The poll was sponsored by Photography Magazine. The award, the first ever made as a direct result of public opinion, is the 12th outstanding honor the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer star has won in recent months."
