Photographic portrait of the University of Southern California's class of 1891, taken June 21, 1889. Seven individuals are shown grouped in two rows: the front row seated and the other standing. In the front row, from left to right, a man with spectacles sits at what appears to be an ornamental writing desk, followed by a woman, and then two other men. Behind them, a woman at center is flanked by two men, both of whom appear to be fairly young. Hanging off the desk, a mortar-board in inscribed with the number ninety-one.
