Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of the Roosevelt Highway near the Pacific Ocean, 1930. The highway hugs the shoreline from the foreground to the background at center and is a two-lane paved road. Many automobiles can be seen on the highway, and even more are parked along the shoulders. Plant-covered hills are visible at left, while the ocean can be seen in the background at right. A small building can be seen in the foreground at right, and many beach-goers can be seen outside of it. Roosevelt Highway later became Pacific Coast Highway.
