Description
Photograph caption dated September 25, 1957 reads "Mrs. John E. Stone, who was alone in her home when jet plane destroyed it, talks with her husband at nearby neighbor's residence. She was talking on telephone when conversation ended with explosion. She raced from room-to-room and finally fled through front door. She suffered only one minor scratch." The pilot and observer on the plane, a Lockheed T-33 Air National Guard trainer, did not survive the crash in Sepulveda.
