Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated April 27, 1962 partially reads, "The wrought iron gate swings open, you step inside and you're in another world. It is a world of beauty, culture and of tradition. It is the world of the Baroness Ilona de Barkow of Sunland. Baroness de Barkow is the widow of the Rt. Hon. Woldemar Baron de Barkow, an international educator and soldier, who was decorated by 53 countries. The baron held five doctor's degrees. There are two cities in Russia today which were named after the de Barkow family. Once on the grounds, you could get lost without a guide through a maze of walks, fruit trees, flowers, plants and pieces of sculpture." Photograph caption reads, "Paintings of every technique and color decorate living room walls of the Baroness de Barkow of Sunland. All done by the Baroness, almost each of the 100 paintings has a story behind it."; See images #00131755 through #00131757 for all photos in this series.
