Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated June 21, 1965 reads, "Sunland-' unique climate is the result of prevailing winds and a thermal effect which carries the impurities in the air away from the twin communities. Heating of the surrounding foothills causes an uplift of the air over the area from hot dry winds of the Mojave Desert and cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean."
